Agrivoltaics is transforming the way solar energy and agriculture coexist. Known as dual-use solar PV systems or solar-sharing technology, these innovative solutions allow farmland to generate clean electricity while maintaining crop production. By combining photovoltaic tracker systems with agriculture, these projects achieve higher energy yields than traditional fixed solar arrays, supporting both renewable energy generation and sustainable farming.
The German government actively supports agrivoltaic innovation, offering subsidies, incentives, and funding programs to encourage the development of next-generation solar projects. These programs help accelerate the adoption of large-scale photovoltaic systems, ensuring Germany can meet ambitious carbon reduction targets and strengthen its renewable energy infrastructure.
Research institutions such as the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Fraunhofer ISE are pioneering this field, optimizing solar tracker design and evaluating environmental benefits, making Germany a hub for cutting-edge solar technology in Europe.
Our 3.8 MWp agrivoltaic tracker system in Germany, begun in 2025, leverages these advancements. By integrating advanced solar tracking technology, the project maximizes energy output while allowing more than 85% of farmland to remain available for crops. This initiative demonstrates how next-generation PV systems and dual-use photovoltaic systems can deliver sustainable energy solutions, drive renewable energy transformation, and support environmental stewardship.
